Terms of Use
Last updated 12 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Annu-Maaria Nivala, Finland (“we”), the developer of the Yafa app. By downloading or using Yafa you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
Read section 1 even if you skip the rest. Yafa generates exercise suggestions automatically. It does not know your health, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, a physiotherapist or a coach.
1. Health, safety and the limits of this app
Yafa is a fitness and wellbeing app. It is not a medical device and not a medical service, and nothing it produces is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Workouts are generated by an AI model from a sentence you write. The app does not know your injuries, your medical history, your medication, whether you are pregnant, or your actual fitness level, beyond whatever you choose to mention. It cannot see your form, and it cannot tell when you are pushing too hard.
- Consult a doctor before starting a new exercise programme, especially if you have a medical condition, an injury, are pregnant or have been inactive for a long time.
- Use your own judgement on every suggestion. Skip anything that seems wrong for you.
- Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or anything unusual, and seek medical help if it persists.
- Make sure you have the space, the surface and the equipment a move needs before you try it.
- Exercise carries an inherent risk of injury. You take part at your own risk.
2. Your licence to use Yafa
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Yafa on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app or its content, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
The app, its design, its workout library and its trade marks remain ours. Workouts generated for you are yours to use for your own training; the underlying library and software are not.
3. Accounts
You can use most of the app without signing in. Signing in with Apple or Google attaches your subscription to you so it survives a reinstall or a new device. You are responsible for keeping access to that sign-in method secure. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen; deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
4. Free demo, subscription and free trial
Without an account and without a payment method, Yafa builds you up to five workouts free when you first open the app. That allowance is granted once, it does not reset, and it covers building a workout only. Editing or refining a workout, the ready-made workout library and voice-guided sessions require an active subscription.
Beyond that Yafa is a subscription app. New subscribers get a 14-day free trial, once per Apple ID, offered by the App Store when you subscribe, with everything unlocked: workouts generated by AI from your own description, swapping and refining moves, the ready-made workout library, and voice-guided sessions.
After the trial, without an active subscription you keep your account and can still open and read the workouts you saved. Creating a new workout, editing or refining an existing one, and running a guided or self-paced session require an active subscription.
Prices and billing
- Yafa Premium is offered as a monthly or a yearly auto-renewing subscription. The price shown in the app before you confirm is the price you pay, in your local currency and storefront.
- The 14-day free trial is an App Store introductory offer, available once per Apple ID. It begins when you subscribe, and billing starts when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
- Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You manage and cancel the subscription in your Apple account settings, not in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under their terms, not by us. Requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the app is broken, email us anyway — we would rather fix it.
Fair use of AI generation
Every AI generation costs us money, so subscriptions include a daily cap on generated workouts. The cap is set well above normal personal use and exists to stop automated abuse, not to ration your training. We may adjust it, and may suspend accounts that attempt to bypass it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful, or to generate content that is abusive, harmful or intended to injure someone;
- attempt to access our servers, other users’ data or the AI provider other than through the app itself;
- script, automate or otherwise bulk-generate workouts, or resell what the app produces as your own service;
- circumvent the subscription, the trial or the usage limits.
We may suspend or terminate access if you do. Where possible we will tell you why.
6. AI-generated content
Workouts are produced by an AI model and are not reviewed by a human before you see them. They can be wrong, oddly balanced or unsuitable for you. We do not warrant that any generated workout is safe, effective or appropriate for your circumstances — see section 1. Similar or identical workouts may be generated for other users.
7. Availability
AI generation requires an internet connection and depends on services we do not control. We aim to keep Yafa available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature permanently, you can cancel your subscription and Apple’s refund terms apply.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and we exclude all implied warranties. We are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your use of workouts generated or provided by the app, except where our liability cannot be excluded by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under Finnish or EU law.
9. Apple
This agreement is between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is not a party to this agreement — but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of it and may enforce it against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use Yafa after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes are heard by the Finnish courts. As a consumer you may also bring a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) after first contacting us, and you keep the right to bring proceedings in the country where you live.
